Cultivating discernment is a vital aspect of the spiritual journey of ourselves. In a world filled with diverse voices and competing influences, the ability to discern truth from error becomes an essential skill for navigating life's complexities and making choices aligned with gospel principles.
The scriptures teach, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Corinthians 2:14). The cultivation of discernment involves seeking the guidance of the Holy Ghost, aligning choices with the teachings of the Savior, and developing an ability to recognize the promptings of the Spirit.
President Dallin H. Oaks emphasized the importance of spiritual discernment when he said, "We need to be cautious with our curiosity and not be deceived into thinking we need to witness or experience everything in order to be well-informed."
May the cultivation of discernment be a guiding principle in our lives, leading to wise choices, spiritual insight, and a deeper connection with the divine.
