Selflessness is a Christlike attribute that defines the discipleship of ourselves. In a world that often encourages self-interest, practicing selflessness becomes a source of joy, fulfillment, and a deeper understanding of the Savior's teachings.
The scriptures teach, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" (Matthew 16:25). The practice of selflessness involves putting the needs of others before our own, serving with love, and following the example of the Savior in our interactions with those around us.
President Russell M. Nelson emphasized how we can nurture the attribute of selflessness, "The more we allow the love of God to govern our minds and emotions, the more we allow our Heavenly Father to influence our thoughts and actions." May the practice of selflessness be a defining characteristic in our lives, fostering unity, love, and a deeper connection with the divine and those we serve.
